Elmo Party Supplies
Sesame Street is a place where most kids grow up (figuratively, of course), and Elmo is one of those characters that is just so likeable that kids eat him up. So when your 3 year old wants an Elmo birthday party, you really have no option but to start looking for plates and napkins. Lucky for you, there are multitudes of Elmo party favors, decorations, games, tablecloths, and more. So how do you choose which ones to use? Where do you even begin searching for decorative items? Here you will find a comprehensive list of the Elmo party supplies that you will need to make your little one’s special day just that little bit more special. 1) First things first: the invitations. No Elmo party can be complete without the Elmo party invitations. You can either buy these pre-made or make them yourself. If you are buying them, try to find ones that have Elmo’s face front and center on the front of the invite, as this will make the recipient ever so excited to open it. You may even be able to find ones that have his voice or the Sesame Street song playing when opened. If you are making them, you can use cardstock paper or regular colored paper that you find at the store. You can print out a picture of Elmo and glue it to each piece of folded paper, adding glitter and confetti or you can cut the paper out around Elmo’s face, so it is in the shape of his head. Either way, try to make the invitation sound as though he is talking. 2) Decorations. Kids’ parties are great because you get to really let loose on the decorations, letting your inner child take over. There are a few essentials when it comes to the Elmo-themed party and they are the Elmo party hats, noisemakers, Elmo-shaped plates, napkins, tablecloth, and banner. You can purchase latex balloons that have Elmo’s face on them and blow them up yourself (or rent a small helium tank), or you can find Mylar balloons that are Elmo-style. Place one balloon at each child’s chair so that each seat has its own Elmo “salute!” 3) Activities. There are so many fun Elmo-related activities you can set up for your party. You can play pin the nose on Elmo, in which each child will wear a blindfold, be spun around a few times, and then have to try to pin Elmo’s nose on the right spot. Set up an empty fishbowl some short distance away from a marked spot and have the children toss a small beanbag into the bowl. Provide bubble blowers for the children and have them blow bubbles in a specific play area for some time. Allow the children to paint “Elmo art,” where they will paint the best Elmo they can on a sheet of paper with watercolor paints. 4) Elmo Piñata. One of the best parts of a child’s birthday party is the breaking of a piñata. In this case, you can find an Elmo-shaped piñata and fill it with all kinds of treats and Elmo toys. There are piñatas that are shaped to look like Elmo’s face and there are piñatas that are Elmo’s full body. You get to choose the type of candy that is put inside, too! Piñatas are usually inexpensive and easy to find, located in any large department or grocery store. 5) Bring in the favors! No birthday party would be complete without the distribution of party favors and an Elmo party is no different! Your Elmo party favors can consist of any number of items, including plastic Elmo cups, stick on tattoos, Elmo buttons, Elmo zipper pulls, notepads, little puzzles, and cupcake rings. You can fill your goody bags before the party begins to easily distribute them later, plus that gives the kids an Elmo bag as a treat, too! Pretty much anything Elmo goes at an Elmo party, so load up on little trinkets and treats the fit the bill to put a smile on your little guests faces. You can also use one of your party activities as a means for your party favors, such as making Elmo visors or even Elmo faces out of pre-cut construction paper. Simply cut out the shapes of the head, eyes, and nose before the party and let the kids glue them together to create works of art they can bring home. 6) Elmo Hungry! When Elmo gets hungry, Elmo wants to eat. Funnily enough, children are quite the same. But what to feed the little muppets is an entirely different story. Pizza is always a safe bet when it comes to birthday parties. You can buy lots of pizzas for cheap and serve everybody there. Or if that doesn’t quite satisfy you, you can opt for a more health-conscious approach and make finger sandwiches for everyone. Other options include sub sandwiches, nachos, hot dogs, and foods that are easy to make a lot of, such as lasagna and spaghetti. Serve anything that is delicious and easy and your guests will gobble it up—not unlike Cookie Monster. As you can see, creating a fun world where Elmo fans can come together to celebrate your child’s birthday is easier than you might have imagined. From invitations to the pizza to fun Elmo-inspired activities and artwork, your child’s party is bound to be a hit with your Elmo party supplies. With just a little bit of creativity you can engage your child and your guests in a world of fantasy and fun, at least for one day. |
