Sponge Bob Square Pants is one of the wackiest and craziest cartoon characters to come on the scene. As the hero in an animated television show, kids – as well as many adults – love him. Today, Sponge Bob theme parties are very popular and there are a lot of options for helping you to create a Sponge Bob and a party full of images from the show.

The only limit to finding ways to include the Sponge Bob theme in all aspects of the party is your own imagination. A good place to start is to include the kid in the planning of the party (unless it’s a surprise). Kids will often have great ideas – some practical and others not so much – but it will get them excited and thinking about how to make it a great event.

Sponge Bob supplies are available widely, whether you are looking online or at gift shops. While many people start with these off-the-shelf ideas, many also add their own ideas and approaches, and thereby make a special customized party event. Adding your own touches is often a good way to ensure a special event turns into a special memory for everyone involved.

Following a list of party considerations and ideas for integrating Sponge Bob and the other Sponge Bob story characters into the theme of the party. Again, you can work from a list like this, or you can use it just to stimulate your own ideas on how to make the party special. But this will get you started.

Start with the list of invitees, which will help you determine your overall budget and thus how much you can allocate to buy the supplies that will have a connection to the shark theme. Once you have the list, it’s time to think about creating the invitations. Sponge Bob birthday party cards come ready made and are easy to find at gift stores, card shops or online. Because there are so many places where the image of Sponge Bob appears, there is no shortage of ways to find and print his image. And there are the other characters as well…his undersea cohorts make for excellent additions to any Sponge Bob party event.

Or you can construct your own Sponge Bob cards out of construction paper. You can also think about taking an actual sponge and adhering construction paper to the front, on which you can draw his image and write out details of the party. Whether you make your own invitation cards or buy some from the store, they will need to include certain details. These details should include the occasion of the party, the date, and time, and what if any instructions you wish to provide about gift giving. You will also want to provide RSVP information. Whatever choice you make for the card itself, the invitations should let kids know through what the party will be like and should start to get them excited about attending.

And you want to think about how to decorate the space where the party will be held. Sponge Bob balloons and streamers can be purchased at the store, but you might also want to make cardboard cut outs of Sponge Bob his arch enemies to place around the room. And you might want to suggest a costume party as well, with ideas for the attendees about how they can make their own Sponge Bob costumes for the party.

And think about turning the space into an undersea environment, with cardboard cutouts of the structures from the show, and various other sea-like images, such as starfish and shells. Blue sheets can be hung from the walls to evoke the undersea experience. You can attach plastic fish to the walls in the room and on to the table where cake and/or other food will be served.

Next , you want to think about activities for the party that relate to the theme. One theme related idea is to have the kids decorate their own sponges. Start with a sponge and some standard craft items and let them use their imagination. Another is to turn standard games into those that relate to Sponge Bob, such as Sponge Bob says instead of Simon Says. And, you can play the hot potato game, using a large sponge as a stand-in for the potato.

Also, think about having the kids watch a series of the Sponge Bob shows. The shows are widely available at movie rental locations, watching them with their friends.

Also at the party, think about how to integrate the theme in to all the various parts of a typical party. Some of the things to think about are plates, cups, silverware, table cloths. All of these items can be purchased with Sponge Bob related themes on them. Work in the other Sponge Bob characters as well; while Sponge Bob is often the focus of attention, the rest of the characters in the story round out his world, and can be used to round out the party scene as well.

Cakes can always be made to represent the theme as well. Your local cake maker can give you ideas, but Sponge Bob cakes can be made for the party. There are Sponge Bob cake molds available on the market if you want to make your own. Alternatively, you can have a cake made that shows a one of the scenes from the show. And you can think about cupcakes with little fish candies on the frosting.

Sponge Bob is amongst the most beloved characters on television today, so it makes sense that kids will want to be surrounded by him during their most important party events. Fortunately, there is no shortage of ideas about how to do that, and there is no shortage of suppliers of Sponge Bob themed products. So, get the kids together and invite a superhero to the party; it’s bound to be a hit and to create memories the kids will hold with them for many years to come.
